Virginia to Rhode Island

We managed to arrive back in Lincoln by 230pm.  A quick unload and change of clothes and we headed to Megan's.  Scott's most recent project (in lieu of rent) is building Bri a tree house.  Paul is a consultant/helper and today the floor was being laid.

Bri is also a major contributor to the project.  She is responsible for nailing small blocks of wood together.  Here she is "surprised" it is bath time and must leave the job site.  On her left hand is an exfoliating glove that is gently wetting the abrasion she received earlier in the day.  (JD, the 2 year old neighbor, was driving his "dump truck" and capsized the two of them.)

We left Virginia well before sunrise and the ride was mostly unremarkable.  The weather was great and the traffic reasonable.

The Origin of Rhode Island

Williams creates a settlement of “rogues” that would later come to be called “Rhode Island.”

What?!?  Rogue definition = aberrant, untrustworthy, dishonest.  Of course that was 1636.  More than 300 years later I am sure no one in RI fits that description!

My favorite part of RI (other than family) are, of course, the beaches.  So many trips.

The plan - Paul would like to finish the walls of the tree house and then maybe head to Maine.  There is no rush but I would like to arrive before the "tourists" arrive in Rangeley for the long weekend.
