Wolf Hill to St Augustine
The goal this morning - walk with Lisa through the woods at Wolf Hill. With no time constraints, we walked for almost two hours in large circles, catching up and though we were not really paying attention to the trails - managed to not get lost. Love, love, love our walks and talks!
A quick stop at Stump Pond to check it out.
And then a change in plans. We decided to drive to St Augustine and do the necessary repairs to the boat so there will be no delay getting her in the water come late December.
Why? The prep work and cement work in Maine is tentatively planned for mid October. The garage materials should be delivered the first week of November. Then building starts and will take an unknown amount of time. Mix in the holidays and the outrageous prices of airline tickets and the only option left for boat repairs - drive and use this next week. Then because we do not have a key card for the marina gate - we need to arrive before they close for the weekend at 3pm on Friday.
So we "packed" and jumped in the car and on the road by 230pm. A few clothes and some snacks - enough to minimize stopping.
The plan - arrive at the marina in time, repair the windlass, the boom brake and clean out the AC ducts and head back to RI within the week.
