Anchoring (In Concrete)

Our goal today - drill and insert 40 anchor bolts into the concrete slab. These will attach the metal building to the slab.  We started early and while it was still misting.  Having rained hard most of the night, we were grateful to see the chalk lines were intact and did not need to be redrawn.

A template was screwed to the wood making drilling fairly simple,
                                                                accurate and consistent.

After drilling, each hole had epoxy squirted in and then the bolts twisted in.  Only a few were leaning a bit crooked!  The weather made us a bit nervous with occasional dark clouds then sun then a strong wind.

Though the temperature was low 40s, the feel like was low 30s.  But we got it done by 3pm and I even managed a coat of urethane on my mantel.

Paul has dubbed tomorrow - wheelchair day.  After bending, drilling and lifting for more than 7 hours - we may not be able to move tomorrow!  That's okay though - the forecast 1-2 inches of snow!  A snow day!
