Framing Begins

With the "crew" set to arrive at 8am, Paul and I were out doing inventory by 730am.  With the temp of 24 and feel like at 9 degrees, we were well dressed.  With 10 pages of inventory to sort, we didn't waste any time.   Some, like the large beams, was easy to count and identify.  The smaller items, not so much.  We have 5 days to file a claim for missing items.  (And it would hamper the build if critical pieces were missing.)  So far so good.  Everything appears to be included.

Some of the larger beams are tucked near the trees.

All the smaller items came in a huge, heavy duty box.

By lunch time a rhythm had been established and the beams
were being lifted easily with the lull (lift for materials).

Progress was steady and we are happy with the day's work.

And after dinner Paul and I set to work "braiding" the steel cables to form the Xs to tie all the beams together and provide strength.
                                                                    Grips

                                                                    Eyebolts

                                                                Cables

Every item is tagged with ID names, numbers, quantities and sizes

                                                                The bolt on the grip

Then the grip wraps around the cable ensuring the eyebolt is very secure.

Paul and I can do this cable braiding easily in the warm house while watching A Christmas Carol.  Of course it started easy with the smaller 1/4 inch cables and as we progressed to the 5/8 inch and larger - a bit of a struggle.  But we got it done!
