Mantel!

My mantel is done and in place!  After sleeping a solid 8 hours, this was the first project we tackled today.  What I placed on the new mantel:

Blizzard Beach 2003 - me and the kids

Finnish candlestick holders that belonged to my paternal grandmother, Mummu

The clock - a gift to Paul from the kids for Father's Day years ago

Wooden candlestick holders from Mom         Megan and Kevin holding their dinner

                                        Before                                                        After

We are so glad we finished the anchors yesterday!  The snow started at sunrise and continued intermittently all morning.

A nice long walk before dinner in the slushy snowy road.  Perfect!  The Blueberry Hill Farm pond has a layer of ice already.

And today is National Louisiana Day.  Love New Orleans!  We visited in 2014 in September.  Hot, soupy and constantly sunny - we managed to walk just about everywhere and catch the vibe - slower than slow.  Kevin and Isis - you are going to love it when you go in February!!!

                                        Music everywhere!

                                    Lots of architecture.

The Mardi Gras Parade Museum - FUN!
