  With feel like temps below zero, we stalled heading outside this morning.  But we did.  The three ladders are stored for the winter (the larger ones under the front porch), the firewood ring is full again and we finally remembered to cover the basement window.  The window that looks onto the back deck has a tendency to have water leech inside when the snow and ice pile up onto the deck from the roof.  Our solution - a grain bag!  It works well, is free and we always know where to find one!                                             First a quick shovel (and hammer) the snow and ice away.                                                       A few nails and the window is...

An overcast day with almost constant flurries and dropping temperatures.  It was warm this morning (20s) but no longer (single digits).  We took advantage and made a better tarp covering for the boat.  Since it will be without a roof for the first time, Paul fashioned a makeshift shelter. Our afternoon outing took us to Koob's Garage in Oquossoc.  While they installed our snow tires, we walked over to Oquossoc Grocery.  Truly a ghost town!  We had a very enjoyable morning in the "warmer" temps - low 20s.  The snow held off until just after noon and continues even now.  Even Fenway spent a bit longer exploring the driveway.                                             We have tarped all the roof and wall panels and "tucked"                                                    them safely for the winter.  The build is officially on pause. We "cleaned" the yard of all potential debris that once buried under snow, may pose a hazard.  Filled the wood ring and wheelbarrow.  And watched a new movie (thank you Cumberland Library Bookstore!) - The Butterfly Effect.  Definitely will need to rewatch since it was a mind bo...

  Zero degrees this morning when Fenway was ready to go out.  He was quick!  We waited until mid-afternoon for our walk and the temp rose to 15!                                                         The pond at Blueberry Hill Farm I did some cleaning (the beams were dustier than I thought), reading and I finally finished looking at the wedding pictures!   My favorite today:  (The other faves I am adding to Kevin and Isis Wedding Photo blog October 25 - check it out!)                                                                        Megan and Peter        ...

 Another travel day.  After a late start we headed north.  With no definite plan with Mike H, we felt free to dawdle.  Paul winterized the AC at Kevin's while I packed and cleaned.  The ride - uneventful.  Mardens for tarps (since we know we will have leftover pieces of the garage until warmer weather) and of course - Walmart for fresh fruit and veggies.   We arrived to 1 degree - UGH!  But the house warmed quick and 50 feels like a sauna! Last year on this date - St Augustine! After traveling down from Fernandina and watching dolphins "play" with the boat!  And just two years ago - our sea trial!  Out of Fort Lauderdale and a quick sail in the ICW.
