Just A Dusting

An overcast day with almost constant flurries and dropping temperatures.

It was warm this morning (20s) but no longer (single digits).  We took advantage and made a better tarp covering for the boat.  Since it will be without a roof for the first time, Paul fashioned a makeshift shelter.

Our afternoon outing took us to Koob's Garage in Oquossoc.  While they installed our snow tires, we walked over to Oquossoc Grocery.  Truly a ghost town!

International Mountain Day:

Saddleback Mountain here in Rangeley holds many memories for us, both hiking and skiing.

A surreal view at sunset from the top!

Mount McKinley in Alaska - stunning, majestic and imposing (especially in a 8 seat plane!)

And we have started planning for our departure.  A final list for closing the house here, wrapping up our To Do List in RI and reading our new book on The Keys.  We have spoken with "Boat Lady", Jennifer, who will wash and wax Quiet Time in preparation for our splash.  Of course she also had "bad" news for us - racoons have apparently moved into our dinghy and have left paw prints all over the boat.  But there is no evidence they have actually gotten inside so we will deal with them when we arrive.  (Does anyone remember how Robin Williams dealt with them in the movie RV?)
