Winter Vibes

With feel like temps below zero, we stalled heading outside this morning.  But we did.  The three ladders are stored for the winter (the larger ones under the front porch), the firewood ring is full again and we finally remembered to cover the basement window.  The window that looks onto the back deck has a tendency to have water leech inside when the snow and ice pile up onto the deck from the roof.  Our solution - a grain bag!  It works well, is free and we always know where to find one!

First a quick shovel (and hammer) the snow and ice away.

A few nails and the window is now protected.
The rest of the day:
Laundry - yesterday when our regular tires were put in the rear of the car for transport back to the house, watery brown sludge leaked from their plastic bags (Thank you Steve for the thought!) onto the two blankets, sheet and towels.  All had to be laundered.  Ugh!
Movie - Jay Kelly on Netflix.  Paul seemed to enjoy.  I fell asleep!
Book - Homecoming by Cynthia Voight - despite missing the first 25 pages (bargain barn special!) I quickly became enthralled with the story of 4 orphans making their way up Route 1 to family.  A one day read!
Art - played with my new engraving pen.
Boat planning - continue researching the Keys and surrounding areas.
Dinner - Paul made pastrami sandwiches - yum!

And this day in 2015 - We adopted Fenway.  A gift we couldn't give away!

December 12, 2023 - Brianna and Maddie were snuggle buddies!

December 12, 2024 - Bella was happy we were visiting Marc and Molly!

The plan - stay warm!
