Doing the To Do
Wow the days are short even with the sun setting later each day. After a quick breakfast here at the hotel, we headed to the marina and started checking off items on our To Do list.
1. I made the bed. The new quilt adds a nice brightness. Thank you Karen!
2. All walls, drawers, ceilings and fans were wiped down with vinegar. The mold was very minimal but with a good swipe I hope to prevent any further from developing.
3. I "unpacked" all our clothes from the "sucky" bags, filling the closets and drawers.
4. I cleaned out the cabinet in the bathroom, throwing out anything that has been on the boat for two years and has not been used. Restocked all towels.
5. I emptied all boxes - new snorkel gear, art supplies, books, "new" rags, a few new kitchen items and junk towels.
6. I inventoried all spices, pantry items and paper goods and developed a rather large grocery list.
7. I found the perfect storage spot for the dehumidifier that worked flawlessly while we were gone.
8. I assisted Paul when he required a second hand with his list.
Boat girl came and washed our boat for a final time. She looks good and all those racoon prints are washed away again. (Yes, they apparently came back though we did not see them.)
Paul:
1. Re-installed Starlink and re-activated our service. Works great!
2. Changed out the leaky starboard through hull. The engine requires cooling so raw sea water comes in through this hull, is strained and then circulates to cool the engine water and thereby cooling the engine.
Here the old through hull has been removed and I can
see outside from the engine compartment.
A strainer for large "debris" covers the hole. (I forgot to take a picture.)
3. Flushed the water tank and added new water. (Thank you Boat Girl for letting us use your hose!)
4. Changed the key fob battery for the car.
The biggest challenge at this point - our wind instruments (at the top of the mast) are non-functioning. What?!? So this moves to the top of the list for tomorrow.
The weather is a bit colder than anticipated but I am wearing flip flops and a coat. The wind today - 30+mph. But the sun was out, the air was crisp and progress was made. I consider this a successful day!
Our Walmart run tonight consisted of pantry items and paper goods. Until I know for sure we are good for Tuesday's scheduled splash - I am holding off buying any fridge/freezer items.
The plan - more To Do.
