Positivity
Mass this morning was interestingly different. We have visited many different churches in our travels and I have found part of the joy is observing how others celebrate.
The smallest - Oquossoc, Maine where the priest invited us to sit in the first row (total 10 rows each side). Despite being a bit late for Mass, I felt welcomed as the kids and I (Scott on my hip) made our way to the front of the congregation. This is one we visit frequently.
The largest church - a toss up. The Cathedral Basilica of St John the Baptist in Savannah, Georgia, St Dunstan's Basilica in Charlottetown, PEI, Canada or St Anastasia here in St Augustine.
Today there were more than 18 Eucharist ministers (I lost count as they headed to the aisles)! A microphone and sound system a necessity but due to the size of the building and the height of the ceilings - everything echoed. Which made the music intriguing and inspiring but the homily - not so much. He spoke too fast and with the echo - I had difficulty discerning his words. My takeaway - I am here. Here I am. (Definitely something to ponder this week!) Still everyone was crazy friendly though we were clearly underdressed. There were plenty of ruffles, feathers and hats!
Fortified with positivity, we headed to Walmart. In and out fairly quickly and to the boat.
Freezer filled with protein and room left for frozen veggies and fruit.
