Thank God It's Monday?

National Thank God it's Monday Day.  Go figure that someone nominated the worst day of the week to celebrate and have its own "holiday".  I personally reserve Mondays for dentist appointments, GYN appointments and DMV visits.  My thought is if I am enjoying my weekend and keeping busy, I am forgetting the coming week and the icky appointment. Get the worst over with first!

When those icky appointments are scheduled for say, a Thursday (or even worse a Friday!), then I have to keep thinking about it all week.  Why do I want to keep thinking of the dentist or the doctor?  No, thank you.  And of course, these appointments have to be as early in the day as possible.  No time to think of the icky!

National Bird Day.  These two were perched outside a hotel office in Fort Lauderdale and I walked by them initially thinking they could not be real.  Not caged but able to perch and talk to people walking by.

And Fred!   He has been a devoted stalker for more than 2 years now.  Here's hoping he finds us again and serenades us in the mornings!

My word for the day - Farniente.  The peace that comes from idling.  A gentle, earned stillness that invites rest without expectation.  In my opinion, this is not something that is easily achieved.  With numerous To Do lists and deadlines that hinder quiet, calm moments, I need to add quiet time to our To Do list regularly.

Today, we enjoyed some quiet time after: cleaning the bathroom (number 1 most hated chore), washing floors, installing smoke and carbon monoxide detectors and fire extinguishers, making zucchini bread, prepping dinner and a surprise visit from a friend!
