Cedar Key Walkabout
Our morning walk took us through the southern end of the island. A gentle breeze and 70 degrees - perfect for exploring.
For our picnic lunch we drove to nearby Shell Mound Observation Deck. A place that would not exist if the Native Americans had not piled up their oyster shells into a mound! Very well done with beautiful and peaceful views.
Cribbage on the deck, reading on the chaise in the sun and a very lazy afternoon. Fred even stopped by for a visit!
The an after dinner walk around town and to the #`1 spot to view the sunset - G Street.
For such a small town (population 670) there is plenty to observe and lots of places to walk.
The Rolls Royce of golf carts (golf carts are VERY popular here!).Looks like Dorothy's home landed in Cedar Key - not Kansas!
Our room - the last yellow one on the far left.
I have enjoyed the peace and quiet here after the noise and crowds of Clearwater. Walking the streets after sunset in the warm breeze - priceless.
The plan - head north in the morning.
