Harpeth River State Park
Emily and Brianna showing off their muscles!
Then onward to a different access point and more trails.
The Bluff Trail. Where we mistakenly thought we were headed to the waterfall. Nope. After climbing what seemed to be straight up for about 30 minutes, no waterfall. But what we did have was an incredible view of the valley! Well worth the effort.

Our next trail - Narrows of the Harpeth Tunnel. This finally led us to the waterfall. Pretty impressive.

After completing more than 5 miles it was time for lunch and a bit of quiet time. Then with renewed energy, we headed to the Tennessee Zoo. The best part were the lorikeets.
This was Papi who spent quite awhile playing with my tassels. Meanwhile I had another on my head and one on my shoulder. Apparently all that sweat produced enough salt that I was their "salt lick". Their tongues were a tiny bit rough and only one "nipped" me.
Today's morning adventure took us to Harpeth River State Park. An area that covers a 40 linear miles along the water with multiple access points.
Our first hike was touted to be the shortest. I disagree. Over 2 miles with plenty to see. We also met several dogs along the way - Mini, Milo, Mango, Lana, Ellen, Rowdy and Layla. All well behaved and friendly.
Hidden Lake, our first waypoint and snack stop. breathtaking view from the top.
(and a perfect place to hide misbehaving children!).
Ominous signs.
