Mammoth Caves, Kentucky
Today's first adventure took us to Mammoth Caves in Kentucky (a Scott recommendation). Well worth the 1.5 hour drive. The state park is over 52,000 acres and the cave system over 400 miles long and 379 feet deep. The temperature in the cave - 54 degrees. Outside temperature low 70s. Very impressive.
Brianna's alleged favorite part - the squishy,
soapy disinfecting mat outside the cave.
There were multiple bridges, dry river beds, steps and switchbacks. We covered 3.5 miles of terrain with frequent snack and water stops.
The girls completed their Junior Ranger booklets while we hiked and earned a badge. Ranger Kristyn swore them in as Junior Rangers with a pledge to always protect the national forest. A very serious performance.
After super quick showers (the girls were sweaty and muddy), we headed to downtown Nashville for dinner. Jason Aldean's restaurant had room for the 6 of us. Live music by Carly who befriended the girls who danced and entertained.
Nashville is full of murals in almost every space available. One of the more famous - WhatLiftsYou wings.

A very full day that should have the girls sleeping soundly. I know I will!
