Sunrise and Sunset

This morning we walked down to the very busy dock to watch the sunrise.  Lots of fishermen heading out for the day that promises to be beautiful.

A posting of high water tides for each of the 4
devasting hurricanes to hit the area.

Because we had hours to kill before check in at our next stop, we decided to visit Horseshoe Beach.  Sounds lovely doesn't it?
Miles of roads with obvious burned areas.  Not sure if they
were prescribed burns or natural but since the smell was intense,
                                     it occurred recently.

The single park in the town of Horseshoe Beach.  No sand, a measly little concrete bench in the hot sun with no shade and disgusting port-a-potty.  We scoured the island for a beach and there was none.  Total misnomer on this town!

Some have yet to make repairs while others seem
to be thriving.  Population in 2020 - a whopping 165 people!

I am guessing fishing is the main career.

And then we arrived in Panacea.  Love the condo we are in!
Full kitchen with tons of counter space, spices and every
                                    kitchen gadget imaginable.

A couch and two loveseats and plenty of tables for drinks, snacks etc.

                                        Cute bedroom and comfy mattress.

                                                            Two full bathrooms!

Our view of the marina off the back deck.

The back deck (where we ate dinner).

The side deck and the closet for the washer and dryer.

It is super quiet and have yet to see any neighbors.  Great find!

After dinner we drove to Alligator Point Beach to watch the sunset.  Soft white sand, few shells, fewer people and real ocean waves - perfect for walking.
