Tatterdemalion
Today's yard sale - not the resounding success we had hoped for since the weather was pretty miserable. We persevered but the traffic was slow and sales even slower. Thankfully the rain was intermittent so we could enjoy a very warm, very lovely fire in the fire pit. And it is always good to hang with family. One trip to Goodwill afterwards where I felt the attendants wondered why the poor people who were dressed in work clothes driving an ancient beat up truck were donating multiple boxes and bags of goods.
Paul and I have been mistaken as homeless twice prior to today. The first time we were walking from the marina to Don and Kim's in Daytona (couple miles) with our laundry in a bag. A very nice lady asked if we needed water, snacks or a ride to our destination. Cute!
The second time we were in St Augustine carrying an empty gas can for the dinghy gas looking sweaty and apparently needy. Again a kind man asked if we needed anything.
Word of the Day - tatterdemalion - a ragged person whose clothes are always in tatters.
National Miniature Golf Day. This is a definite favorite activity when we are on vacation. Fairly cheap, takes a bit of time, every level of skill is okay and almost every town has one.
Megan, Scott, Dan, Thomas and Kevin 2008 in FloridaNational Train Day. Of course we have taken train rides with the kids. I just cannot find those pictures at this time. So I have pictures with toy trains instead!
