Babysitting Blues

Paul's eye appointment - good.  No lasting damage from the corneal abrasion.  Some quick shopping - garage door locks, kitchen faucet pieces.  And then we get this cutie!

After dinner at The Beef Barn we treated her to ice cream - Cookie Monster flavor.

Despite a rough start (Brianna wanted a chocolate shake for
dinner and refused to order real food) we had a nice dinner.
She ate her hot dog with a side of bacon with enthusiasm.

After reading this sign, she stayed close to us!

Then into the pool!  Warm at 82 degrees - delightful.  After almost 2 hours she proceeded to play with the neighbor riding her bike, scooter and general running around.

Initially we thought we blew a breaker when the pool suddenly shut off.  Nope. The whole neighborhood - out of power.  Okay.  Scott and Josh had started a fire and I found marshmallows.
Kelsi with Henry, JD and Brianna roasting marshmallows.

Scott showing JD and Brianna how to handle the sparklers.

After a brief "discussion" Brianna headed to bed at 10pm with no power.  Using a lantern and my phone for music, she tried.

By the time TJ and Megan returned from their night out, power had yet to be restored.  Ugh.  The generator was started, instructions given and we headed back to Lincoln.  According to Alex at RI Energy - no estimate available for return of power.

We headed back and voila - Scott called with good news - power restored!

Babysitting is exhausting!  I should sleep well as should Brianna!
