Be Nice to Bugs

National Be Nice to Bugs Day.  I was very nice to this creepy creature after he flew into my hair on my way to the barn tonight.  All I did was swish him away and then let him walk away.

                                                  This guy was already dead.

We have temporarily relocated to Megan and TJs for a few days while they vacation.  Two horses, two dogs, one chicken, one cat, a dragonfly and a vegetable garden.  Our goal - keep everything alive (probably not the dragonfly).

Before leaving today Brianna and Emily were riding bikes and ran over a dragonfly.  Alive but with a broken wing, they have constructed a place for him to recover and I was sworn to keep checking him and feeding him leaves.  Even JD (3 year old neighbor) insisted I pinky swear that I would do my best to help "Drago" recover.  Ugh.

One of the projects we have initiated is the back deck gate.  After installing a doggie door in the sliding screen many years ago, we needed to figure out a way to prevent the dogs from running down the stairs and away.

Cheyenne and Gypsy enjoying the sun on the back deck with a
baby gate preventing any chance of escape.

Eventually the gate deteriorated and Paul installed a half door.

And now the door has rotted.  So Paul is constructing a new door.
All the pieces are cut and I have completed the first coat of stain.

Word of the day yaw.  Meaning to move left to right especially in an uncontrolled manner.
