Ceraunophilia

While Paul completed the rewiring of the boat trailer wires, I scrubbed the front half of the interior of the boat.  Inside the cooler I found cups and a water bottle that have been there for years. But under the seat cushions where lifejackets and floatation cushion were stored was surprisingly dry and clean.

Dark skies arrived just after 1pm with thunder in the distance.  We quickly moved the boat back in the garage under cover.

Then when the rain held off we decided to blow up the towable tube to check for leaks.

So far, so good.  Five hours later the tube remains inflated!

The rain arrived with a suddenness and lots of thunder rolling through the mountains.

And eight minutes later - the rain was gone, the thunder more distant and the sun shining brightly.

Our other accomplishments - the boat has been re-registered (expired since February) and we found that the trailer registration is current (just missing the sticker and paperwork which we hope is either at Megan and TJs or Kevin and Isis').

The plan - finish washing the interior of the boat including the bimini and the ski locker.  Paul will change the fuel filter and impeller (parts were shipped to Megan and TJs).  Then we should be able to do a float test on the lake!

Word of the day - ceraunophilia.  Meaning a person who feels deeply drawn to thunderstorms...the sound of rain, distant thunder, dark skies, shifting winds and the electric feeling in the air before a storm arrives.  The storms bring a strange sense of calm amidst the power of nature.
