Rangeley Sunsets

Image
The highlight of the day - sunset! We have witnessed some seriously beautiful sunsets here in Rangeley this week. Crossing our fingers did not work.  We are just a few tiles short to finish the bathroom floor.  Ugh.  We called and ordered another case but I will not be crossing my fingers it arrives in time to finish before we leave for Georgia.  However, we are aiming to be 95% completed with the room before leaving. 🤞🤞 Left to complete - trim, towel bars, caulk, new light fixture and pictures.  Tomorrow's another day.   Photo of the day (2005)                                                       Megan, Kevin and Scott st Smalls Falls

Plans Awry

Image
The bathroom floor has turned into a challenge.  A little more than half laid down, our fingers are still crossed we have enough material.  We had counted on using the leftovers from when we did the kitchen floor in Cumberland but despite the assurances of the flooring experts the sizes are just different enough that they do not fit together.  Ugh. And our new light fixture cannot just be switched out.  New wiring must be run.  Ugh. We overslept and missed church.  The movie schedule was misinterpreted and there is no 8pm show tonight (That was our plan).  Ugh. However, the new clothesline dried 3 batches of sheets and blankets wonderfully.  The weather was awesome.  The winter clothes are organized.  The basement has fewer spiders and is much cleaner.  Dinner was yummy.   Tomorrow's weather is the pick of the week.  Yay! And as I organized photos from 2011, look what I found:         ...

National Son Day

Image
Today is National Son Day and I have TWO!  How lucky am I? Kevin has the best smile and except for a few years when he did not want his picture taken, he always comes out smiling.  His good nature has endeared him to many and he was always making new friends.  Once while sitting in a skating rink while Megan took a lesson, Kevin wandered away and came back with 2 new friends, a 10 month old and his mom.  Every week they entertained each other in the cold arena. His sense of humor is abundant and rampant.  My favorite - he called me at work one day on his way to a new doctor.  While on the phone with him, he arrived in the parking lot.  Then he asked me why I sent him to a fertility clinic!  It took me several seconds to figure out he was kidding.   His favorite way to shower - asleep on the bottom of the tub!  Hates the beach after an unfortunate incident with the sand.  Loved carrots so much, his poop was orange.  H...

Autumn Sun

Image
The sun came out today!  It was partly cloudy but welcome nevertheless.  We walked first thing this morning in the brisk, cool air.  Pretty amazing! We made another donation trip to the church and recycles to the transfer station.  The last of the bathroom trim is cut and I started the multi coat process of painting them along with the pieces for the towel bars.  My clothesline is hung and ready for use.  The last of the kitchen cabinets have been emptied, purged and washed.  Sounds like a busy day but truly I had time for a nap and a soak in the jacuzzi!  And I started a new book.  And I organized the 2003 pictures taken in Maine.                                                                      Scott loves to eat!    ...
