National Son Day

Today is National Son Day and I have TWO!  How lucky am I?

Kevin has the best smile and except for a few years when he did not want his picture taken, he always comes out smiling.  His good nature has endeared him to many and he was always making new friends.  Once while sitting in a skating rink while Megan took a lesson, Kevin wandered away and came back with 2 new friends, a 10 month old and his mom.  Every week they entertained each other in the cold arena.

His sense of humor is abundant and rampant.  My favorite - he called me at work one day on his way to a new doctor.  While on the phone with him, he arrived in the parking lot.  Then he asked me why I sent him to a fertility clinic!  It took me several seconds to figure out he was kidding.

His favorite way to shower - asleep on the bottom of the tub!  Hates the beach after an unfortunate incident with the sand.  Loved carrots so much, his poop was orange.  Hates shepherd's pie but will eat hamburger, mashed potatoes and corn separately on the same plate.  Loves tacos (I ate them every night while pregnant with him!).

I am super proud of the man he has become and look forward to watching him continue to grow!

Scott was born an old man.  Always acting older than his age (inevitable as third child), he pushes the limits.  Skiing at age 3, he immediately began glading (skiing in the woods).  His first steps were towards the pool where he wanted to jump right in.  When he was 14 he traveled to New Mexico with Boy Scouts, none of whom he knew.  Days of hiking, sleeping in tents and carrying everything he needed in a pack.

He can sleep anywhere, is unable to ride roller coasters upside down, backwards or in circles (I did ride one when pregnant with him!) and loves to eat.

Scott is conscientious about the environment, his health (mostly) and friends and family.  He is humble and has the ability to not take himself too seriously.  Horrible procrastinator though!

He makes me proud to be his mom!

As brothers they were typical - love/hate.  When they fought I made them sit on the bench and hold hands for many minutes.  No noises allowed. (I think it worked?)

I feel blessed to have such incredible kids!

Another perfect autumn day in Rangeley.

We did a quick hike in Oquossoc down Indian Rock Road.  No hills or rocks and minimum mud, all perfect since I was wearing flip flops.

The new clothesline worked splendidly.  I am stripping bed sheets and blankets finally!  The bathroom floor was started and stalled.  The flooring pieces are not the same size!  Paul will pull up what is laid and rework it.  Hopefully there are enough pieces to complete the job.

The day ended with a fabulous sunset.
