My "Sun" - Kids and Games

Jack and Ximena just left after hours of work.  Every time we started the engines, there seemed to be new leaks.  Dinner at almost 9pm tastes very, very yummy!  Chicken wings and corn I put in the oven at 630p is cooked to perfection.

Everything is temporary.  There is always someone worse off.  As I struggle with our what seems like constant delays and setbacks, I need to remember that, although I am not exactly where I want to be, I am not in a "bad" place.  The sun is shining, it is warm with a gentle breeze and I am not working.

By the time we arrive in the Bahamas and get settled on anchor or at a marina, this hopefully will seem like a distant annoyance.  That the islands we will explore and the people we meet will have made it all worthwhile.

I need to remember how, when the kids were young, for many years and many parties, we had rain and cold.  We adapted and made it work.  Then one day the sun came out for a party.  Then another.  Then we had a string of beautiful days for what seemed like every party and gathering for a long time.  This is our "rainy" time.  The "sun" will reappear and we will rejoice.  In the meantime, we need to make it work.

When I need an uplift, I only have to think of the little ones.  Instant smile and uplift!

And Paul and I learned a new game today.  Thank you Karen!  It took our minds off our troubles and made us giggle a bit.  Easy and simple after figuring out how to score in bowling (it's all automatic at the alleys).

The best part of my day - picking out my Mother of the Bride dress!  Isis has made it super easy by choosing a flattering color that has multiple choices for style.  I have put a reminder on my calendar so it will be delivered just as we arrive home in July.  So exciting!
