Melbourne
An early start meant calm waters and watching the sunrise. It also meant I was able to enjoy sitting in the "dolphin seat" on the bow before the sun became scorching hot.
Lots of wildlife.
Best tiny home ever!
And then the Lovebugs arrived! Hundreds of flying insects mating and landing on everything and everything in the cockpit. We were in the middle of nowhere surrounded by water. What is happening?
Thankfully they were not biting bugs but pesky all the same.
We arrived in Melbourne by noon and anchored just outside Squid Lips Restaurant. We were able to enjoy the breeze briefly before the afternoon storms blew in.
Before the storm we could see all our neighbors. The benefit of the storm - the boat swung 360 degrees and the anchor held nicely. We will rest easy knowing there will be no surprises in the middle of the night!
Within a few hours the skies were clear again, the bugs were washed clean off the boat and we took the dinghy to meet Sally and Richard. So much fun and glad our timing worked!
And after a very enjoyable dinner our sunset was amazing.
The plan - another early departure, head north and anchor by early afternoon to avoid the scattered thunderstorms.
