Lettuce Lake

We were able to sit and thoroughly enjoy this morning's sunrise.  Our first bridge of the day was on a strict schedule and only opens at quarter past the hour during rush hour.  So we had to wait for the 815am opening.

Through Lantana, Boynton Beach and down to Boca Raton.

Crazy amounts of boats speeding up and down the ICW.

With such a narrow channel, the waves just kept crashing
back and forth causing a "washing machine" effect.  FUN!

                                            Hotel?  Nope.

Not a square inch is undeveloped in this area.

Multiple channels so everyone can park their yacht right outside their McMansion.

So many different types of yachts!

Why not park 2 in front of your home?

And then the wildlife!

Our first option for anchoring - Pelican Harbor - we arrived too early to call it a night.

Our second option - Lake Boca Raton - was full of too many boats and way too many party boats.

So onto our third option - Lettuce Lake.  Perfect!  Just a few boats and hopefully once it gets dark - the wakes from the ICW will diminish.

We wound up doing 38.5 miles and went under 16 bridges!  The last bridge - Atlantic Boulevard - was the best.  We were not going to make the opening at 5pm.  Paul called and told her we were going as fast as we could and she used her 3 minute "grace period" to wait for us.  Thank you!  Too many of the bridges we arrived and had to hover and wait.  Difficult enough then add crazy boaters zipping around and tour boats and it becomes a true challenge.  But we made it.

The plan - leave with the sunrise and complete the last 11 miles and last 8 bridges by noon.  With the warm weather (81 tomorrow) I expect the masses to be on the water in droves.  The good thing - no one appears to rise much before noon!
