Simple Joys

 

Our goal today - pull out Kevin and Isis' bikes, clean them and get them functioning.  (Isis' was previously Papa's that was a well used gift.)  First trip around the block - failure.  We had to turn around and fix the rear wheel on Kevin's.  While Paul straightened out the wheel, I managed a cat nap in the warm sun.  Our second trip - successful!  Riding around this block is a bit different than riding in Florida.  There are hills and only occasional sidewalks.  But it was glorious!

A new recipe tonight - Corn Dog Muffins.  Super easy and way more yummy than plain hot dogs in a bun.  A definite keeper.  It was a joy to cook in a kitchen that is fully stocked and organized.  Automatic ice!  Pot holders!  Sharp knives!

Biking and cooking - simple joys that so much more appreciated now after having to abandon our bikes in Vero Beach and the varying kitchen amenities at each destination.

Driving Rain and Left Side Road

 Today found us with lots of cloud and lots of rain.  We snuck in a fast soak in the jacuzzi this morning before our last trip to the grocery store.  A bit of fresh fruit (no fresh foods can be brought back into the states) and enough flour to continue my bread making.  We watched the downpour from the game room where I have yet to beat Paul at pool.  The closest I came was so close... Paul won after I left him this shot! The wet made getting on and off the boat a bit tricky.  During high tides, the boat is about 3 feet above the dock and 3 feet away.  Low tide 3 feet too low.  Normally Paul or I pull the boat closer and climb up or down.  Today I thankfully grabbed his hand before jumping - I slid across the wet dock and would have joined the fish on the other side!  Ugh.  No blood only a small bruise to my shin.  No jumping when wet! Getting Real (Close)

 It's getting close.  All the planning.  All the decision making.  Tonight was the beginning of the celebration of Kevin and Isis. The venue is beautiful.     The rehearsal went well.   Isis - super focused.  Kevin and Dan - watching butterflies. Everything will go smoothly and everyone will remember where they are supposed to be and when. And we all know that only the bride is the focus unless something extraordinary occurs (Fall, fainting, vomiting).   Isis has assigned us all tasks.  Love it!  I get to be the family wrangler!!!  Perfect!  Thank you! Dinner at Avellino - supreme.  From the appetizers to the main course (best vegan dish ever!), and to the chocolate tort - everything was perfectly yummy.  The service - outstanding.  Great choice kids!   So many smiling, happy people.  Blessed.

Newlyweds

 I am so, so happy for these guys!   Love you all!  The photos capture the happiness and love perfectly!  And that kid - how adorable and enchanting and priceless!  A simple ceremony in Maine including snow - doesn't get much better than that! Meanwhile Paul and I are still at the marina dock.  Last night I mentioned breaking the washing machine.  Then I thought I broke the toilet (or forgot how to use a marine toilet).  Turns out the water pump died causing the washer to become confused and the toilet not to fill properly.  Ugh.  We have a foot pump for water at the kitchen sink so we made do last night and then went to bed. This morning Paul switched out the pump for the spare we had on board.  Another spare has been ordered and we will grab from Marc's when we get to Palm Beach.
