Happy Anniversary Isis and Kevin!
Happy Anniversary Isis and Kevin! One year already!
So many changes - keep smiling and enjoying each other and the chaos of life!
After a late night I expected the girls to sleep a bit. Ha! I no sooner started a workout on the elliptical when the pitter patter (really thunder!) was heard from the kids. Paul sent them to me. I sent them back up to get their books to read while I finished. So they read sitting in beach chairs while asking me a zillion questions.
Then it was their turn of course (in pajamas no less!)
Emily managed 0.5 miles. Brianna did 0.25 miles.
They each cooked their own breakfast - fried eggs, toast and pineapple.
Then time for worksheets.
And because bedtime last night was atrocious (throwing balls of yarn at each other, wearing each others clothes and screaming, etc), they accumulated a list of chores to do.
The dog was walked frequently, the house vacuumed, dishes washed, recycles sorted and floors washed.
After lunch we planned an adventure. But because they decided to eat sloppily and yogurt landed on the floor and the chairs - everything needed to be washed and dried first.
Then a bike ride to the South Branch Dead River.
Someone built a "bridge". (Yes, someone fell in !)
From the house (red pin) to the blue dot - 3 miles. The girls did great until we arrived at the field. Then because the grass was tall and the dirt narrow, they wobbled and spent a bit of time in the weeds. No real injuries though.
Then the ride back- most of it uphill - challenging for the kids. We counted telephone poles and rested every 6 (then 3, then 2). Then a race to the driveway with giggles and smiles.
Paul accomplished a bit today. Surprisingly (or not!) he was dressed and working by 7:30 am.
Then the spring bar. I thought we were done with the heavy lifting. Apparently not. Ugh. But it's in place and secure.
Megan, TJ and Annie arrived just in time for dinner. Then an after dinner walk/ride to the corner a bit just over 1/2 mile away.
Bri decided she was done riding. So TJ took over.

They should sleep through the night and a bit later in the morning. "Should". Fingers crossed.
Word of the day - skirr. Meaning to leave hastily, to search , explore, to pass over rapidly, skim.
