Happy Birthday Thomas!

 Happy Birthday Thomas!  It seems like just yesterday you were in the cupboard!  Love the smile and the "up to no good" attitude!



Another beautiful day here and with no rain in sight we planned a full day of work.  How can the summer be nearing the end?  

Since the parts for the boat are days away from arriving, we covered the "holes" to prevent critters from taking advantage.

                                            Parts are waiting in the basement for reassembly.


            And the boat is covered and tarped under the new carport until it's time to begin again.


                                     Our new goal for the day - assemble the new garage door.



                                        The 5 panels are in place and secured for the night.
                            The assembly and installation of the track is the goal for tomorrow.


In between assisting Paul, I managed a batch of laundry, some cleaning, reading and uploading photos from 1999.  Just under 200 pictures and not many duplicates.
My favorite:

                                         Scott, Megan and Peter in our first boat.  No life jackets 
                                            required since we were still in the driveway!
                                    (I think we asked them who was ready to get wet!)

And one year ago today - the rehearsal dinner for Kevin and Isis' wedding.  A whole year!

Word of the day - rigmarole.  Meaning a long, complicated and annoying process, description, etc.  

Sounds like the instructions for the garage door which included ensuring a second exit was available once the building process was begun so you did not get stuck inside!  Seems like that would be a given and if not - maybe someone else should be assembling the door for you!

 I am so, so happy for these guys!   Love you all!  The photos capture the happiness and love perfectly!  And that kid - how adorable and enchanting and priceless!  A simple ceremony in Maine including snow - doesn't get much better than that! Meanwhile Paul and I are still at the marina dock.  Last night I mentioned breaking the washing machine.  Then I thought I broke the toilet (or forgot how to use a marine toilet).  Turns out the water pump died causing the washer to become confused and the toilet not to fill properly.  Ugh.  We have a foot pump for water at the kitchen sink so we made do last night and then went to bed. This morning Paul switched out the pump for the spare we had on board.  Another spare has been ordered and we will grab from Marc's when we get to Palm Beach. Getting Real (Close)

 It's getting close.  All the planning.  All the decision making.  Tonight was the beginning of the celebration of Kevin and Isis. The venue is beautiful.     The rehearsal went well.   Isis - super focused.  Kevin and Dan - watching butterflies. Everything will go smoothly and everyone will remember where they are supposed to be and when. And we all know that only the bride is the focus unless something extraordinary occurs (Fall, fainting, vomiting).   Isis has assigned us all tasks.  Love it!  I get to be the family wrangler!!!  Perfect!  Thank you! Dinner at Avellino - supreme.  From the appetizers to the main course (best vegan dish ever!), and to the chocolate tort - everything was perfectly yummy.  The service - outstanding.  Great choice kids!   So many smiling, happy people.  Blessed.
