Oquossoc Day

A bright but chilly start to the day.

All but the last (and most challenging) roof panel is in place.

Oquossoc Day took place today.  Soooo many people.

Lots of the usual vendors and one very odd table of antiques.

                                            Even a boat parade.

And The Gingerbread House.  Originally sold penny candy and tchotchke, then an on again off again restaurant and now an annex to the Trading Post in Rangeley.

The "dining room" is now full of clothing racks and souvenirs.

In 2017 we visited the restaurant by snowmobile.

                                                                    Maddy and Scott

                                                                                Scott

                                                                    Maddy

                                                                            Kevin

The sliding glass doors allowed us to watch the deer eat their lunch.

Megan and Bri watching the deer while waiting for lunch 2023.

Word of the day - tchotchke.  Meaning a small object displayed for its attractiveness or interest.
