"Wildlife" in Rangeley

While Paul measured, cut and hung the remaining roof panel I did a bit of landscaping and debris cleanup.  Frogs everywhere!
The remainder of the morning Paul spent coming up with a game plan for the trim and the "loft" in the carport.  I did laundry, sketching and reading.

And after lunch - a bike ride.  We chose to park near the town park and explore the side streets of Rangeley.  We were looking for a "gentle" ride.

After a brief ride down Main Street (where there were too many cars and pedestrians), we headed to Pleasant Street.  We circled one block then tackled the hill.  The view worth the extra sweat!

Lots of "wildlife".

The ride downhill- awesome!  We circled another couple blocks before coming back to Main Street.

Then after another brief ride down Main Street, we headed to Depot Street.  Depot Street is not a full fledged street.  Though there are a few homes closer to town, most of the dirt, stone road is only traveled by ATVs and snowmobiles.  And today - us on bikes.

What looks like a smooth, straight and level road is a mirage.  Lots of "potholes", large rocks causing our front tires to turn unexpectedly and enough hills to keep us in low gear.  A white knuckled, sweaty and exhilarating ride!

Depot Street dropped us onto Route 16 and we headed back to town.

We cycled almost 6.5 miles with some great challenges!

Word of the day - zeugma.  Meaning a wordplay in which a single word relates to other words in such a way that it means something different in each case.  "Building a boat and a reputation".  "Open a book and your mind".
