Quiet on Quiet Time
Early this morning we very gladly headed south to the boat. The neighborhood in Daytona now has more motorcycles than houses. Several homes have invited guests with their motorhomes and the revelry lasted most of the night. We will delay our return as long as possible to avoid the remainder of Bike Week.
Paul made a new friend, Gary. Gary found us a motor with everything we need attached! And the price was right. And his shop is only a few miles from our dock. We picked it up and loaded it into the SUV. Now Jack needs to come take both motors and bring a fully functioning one back to us. Dave, our host here in Stuart, has agreed to store the motor in his garage. His wife even donated her dolly (she refinishes furniture) so we were able to slid it easily out of the way.
So good to be back! Sunny and 75!Meanwhile we are enjoying the boat. Paul fixed the 7 battens on the mainsail. I worked on removing all the sticky glue from duct tape on a small window. It had been leaking when we left it in Georgia so we duct taped it securely. It has been fixed and now - no leak (tested with 4 inches of hard driving rain this past week). I finally took my bean bag chair out of the box. I promptly grabbed a book to read and fell asleep! (Paul fell asleep on the couch) It is so quiet here! An occasional airplane or boat gliding by but that's it! Our boat has been given the best name!
We walked to the nearby park and just sat on the bench and listened to the birds and wind.
Along our bike rides and walks we have discovered that Floridians love to personalize their mailboxes. Check it out.
