Back in RI!

After 650 miles and another 11 hours in the car we were happy to see this sign!

When we set out this morning from Virginia, Paul had to dig out my sweatpants and a jacket to put over my sweatshirt.  The temperature - 33 degrees!  Thankfully we had heated seats and hot coffee from the hotel.

And then Siri sent us around Washington, DC - way around.  Through Western Pennsylvania - Gettysburg, Harrisburg and Allentown.  Beautiful country.  Lots of mountains and farmland and no traffic jams.

Having never traveled this way it proved to be very entertaining.  (An extended longer stay is likely in our future to truly check out this beautiful area.)

Would you take anyone seriously if this was on their resume?

Someone was definitely having fun at the expense of some
poor landowners.  How does one keep a straight face when
                                    giving directions to this area?

Awesome motto for a truck driver to spread across many miles!

What are we plucking?  Mine?  Yours?

Sounds like we need some kind of netting on the bed tonight!
                                                Definitely named by an infant.

A fun town by the name of it!

Obviously a town for the elite!

Nothing big ever, ever happens here!

Sounds like a rodent problem with pitter, patter of feet.

Sounds like Leonia has a neck issue.

Lots of trees pretending to be cell towers.

And then Merritt Parkway.  When I saw Siri sending us over the George Washington Bridge through New York I thought - ugh.  But it was fine and the traffic was minimal.  And on the other side is the parkway.  No trucks are allowed due to the low bridges which makes traveling very nice and much smoother.  The road which starts at the New York line, travels just over 37 miles and has 69 unique and different bridges and is part of the National Historic Register.  Super cool!  Here are some:

It is a great road especially at the end of a very long day in the car.  There are plenty of rest areas, gas stations and clean bathrooms.

We are tired (and a bit cold) but glad to be back in RI for a bit.

The plan - none at the moment other than to unpack the car in the morning!
