Indomitable
A quick ride home from Rangeley and yet a long day. We left early to avoid the potential traffic on a long holiday weekend. And the hurdles began.
- I forgot to use the bathroom before leaving so we made our first stop after only an hour.
- Maisie did not want to stay in the back with me and Fenway. She kept jumping off the seat, onto the floor and digging under Mom's set to get to her. Mom switched to the back and she calmed down.
- I remembered to take the stinky garbage from the house but forgot to dump it at the gas station so we rode with it all the way home.
- about 3 hours into the trip we realized Paul had accidently thrown the main breaker. Bad since I had left food in the fridge and freezer for our return in two weeks. Thankfully Steve, our neighbor, was available to rectify the problem.
- upon arrival in Lincoln we found the basement dehumidifier had died. A trip to Lowe's after dinner was necessary to buy a replacement.
- the screen door closer that I broke on our way out on Monday and Paul swapped out quickly with a spare was banging harshly and obnoxiously. Something else that needs attention.
Word of the day - indomitable. Meaning something that is impossible to defeat or discourage. I intend to remain indomitable despite the hurdles!
International Box Day. Established to think outside the box and be creative with boxes. Every mother knows it's not the gift but the box that entertains for hours!
