Fayetteville, North Carolina

 


Tonight we landed in Fayetteville, North Carolina.  Just over 400 miles from Daytona, we are truly dogging it.  With continued rain in New England - we have no desire to arrive before the sun!

Our biggest hurdle when stopping at random places - finding dinner.  After circling the city for more than 30 minutes we entered Twin Peaks Restaurant.  Cute exterior with a Canadian mountain theme we thought it would be okay.  Until the hostess came to seat us.  Ugh.  Hooters turned Canadian.  Thanks but no thanks.

Then we found Logan's.  Turned out to be a great choice.  Friendly, efficient (and fully dressed!) staff, great BBQ and a quiet room.  Perfect after a full day of driving.

                                 Paul had baked potato and a full rack of ribs that fell off the bone.


                                    I had salad with fried chicken.



And surprise!  Today is National North Carolina Day.  One of my favorite places - The Outer Banks.  Our first visit there in 2007 was very memorable!

 I am so, so happy for these guys!   Love you all!  The photos capture the happiness and love perfectly!  And that kid - how adorable and enchanting and priceless!  A simple ceremony in Maine including snow - doesn't get much better than that! Meanwhile Paul and I are still at the marina dock.  Last night I mentioned breaking the washing machine.  Then I thought I broke the toilet (or forgot how to use a marine toilet).  Turns out the water pump died causing the washer to become confused and the toilet not to fill properly.  Ugh.  We have a foot pump for water at the kitchen sink so we made do last night and then went to bed. This morning Paul switched out the pump for the spare we had on board.  Another spare has been ordered and we will grab from Marc's when we get to Palm Beach.
