663 Celebrations

Image
In honor of tomorrow's celebration and Pre-Thanksgiving dinner, I thought I would present previous celebrations at 663 Washington Highway.  This house was built in 1955 and has witnessed numerous parties and good times.  I never expected to be hosting here, but since I am, Let's have FUN!               Memere Adam's birthday (circa 1971)                     Uncle Normand, Aunt Doris, Louie, Donald, Paul, Lucille, Aunt Rena, Memere Adam                                                                      Memere Adam's birthday (circa 2005)                     Megan, Donald holding Dan, Paul holding Scott, Memere Adam, K...

A Little This and A Little That

Image
A stunning morning for a 3 mile walk.  A little rain, a little sun and few clouds along with a friend who talks more than a little and makes the miles fly by!  And even though we have walked this section of the bike path numerous times, it is never the same. Last nights rains (more than a little) convinced Paul to clean the gutters today while I provided ground support.  A dirty, wet job that desperately needed to be completed.    The rest of the day was spent relaxing with a little cooking in preparation for Sunday's dinner, a little laundry, and finished setting the three tables for 23 on Sunday.  Looking forward to a  little chaos.

Alascattalo Day

Alascattalo Day.  Honoring Alaskan humor and named for a fictitious animal that is a cross between a moose and a walrus.  An animal that was bred during the Gold Rush by the miners.  Created as a response to a stupid tourist question.   Here are some of the animals we came across during our trip to Alaska.  There were no Alascattalos!                                        I don't know who he thought he was kidding by pretending to be a bush!                                        Reindeer were plentiful and wistful.                                                     ...

Pre-Thanksgiving Preparations

Image
Today was spent preparing for our annual Pre-Thanksgiving dinner.  Since I always volunteered to work at the hospital on Thanksgiving Day (and thus cover my holiday commitment for the year), I began the tradition of having dinner the Sunday before Thanksgiving.  It worked out so well, with everyone attending, I continued the practice.    Here we are on this day in 2022 at our Pre-Thanksgiving dinner.                                             Me and Karen                                                            Paul                                    ...
