Riverfront Esplanade

After a late start we meandered to the post office by foot.  It was hot!  Not quite hot but warm enough for shorts and a tee shirt.  Finally!

So after lunch we headed out for a real walk.  We wound up down on the Riverfront Esplanade.  Although we have visited here in the past, we took full advantage and wandered through the entire park.  Total of 4 miles.  Nice bathrooms and water fountains with cool water placed strategically, it was the perfect way to spend a sunny, warm day.

The sunshine makes everything look so beautiful.  We just kept walking and listening to the music piped into the park.  We sat on benches and swings.  We watched the birds and water.  And we stopped for coffee.

Then we stopped in to visit friends on their boat.  It felt good to be on a boat on the water even though it was on a dock and wasn't Quiet Time.  Talking about boats and boat troubles actually instills hope.

A quick walk back (3 miles) in the dusk completed our day.  May the sun and warmth continue!
