Matanzas River
After filling our water tank and taking trash off the boat, we waited. The fog was intense and beautiful, just not favorable to driving the boat down river.
Eventually the fog lifted a bit and with calm waters and slack tide, we set off. Off the dock and around the bend, we entered Matanzas River and delighted in the moving.
Under the 312 bridge the multitude of pelicans gave us the stink eye!
We only traveled a couple miles before setting anchor - okay it did take us two tries since our first choice was way deeper than we were comfortable with.
Some cleaning (the anchor washdown hose was gross!), I hung yesterday's damp laundry on the lifeline (still damp go figure) and Paul set up our "rabbit ears" to watch the football game. The ears worked great with occasional "snow" while swinging with the wind and current.
My time was spent drawing and painting and reading while he watched the game and watched our anchor position.
Our neighboring boats are all deserted except this one where the cormorants have moved in!
Calm and quiet and still warm, we are enjoying the peace.
The plan - dinghy to the "nearby" park and walk to AutoZone for a new relay. Stay warm as the temperature starts to sink!
