Big Accomplishments

My big accomplishment today - turning the crib bumpers from Aunty Karen (used in Peter's crib) into window valances.  After ripping 13 feet of seams and removing the batting, I recut and resewed everything into what turned out to be really cute window treatments!  (I only cursed once.)

Paul's accomplishment - putting the kayaks away in the garage and refitting the handles on 4 of them.  Without the handles it is a bit of a struggle carrying them.

New handle fashioned from the broken axe handle.
(Broke while digging the electrical trench to the garage).

Old handles were simple plastic and after almost 20 years some had broken off.

Their temporary home on the new garage floor until shelves and
storage racks are built (project for another day).

The kayak trailer has been partially dismantled for the trip back to RI.  Paul has found a great deal on fence posts for Kevin and Isis' and we will be picking them up on the way home (sort of on the way home) tomorrow.

Looks a bit different after 12 months of hard work!

Word of the day - kith.  An old fashioned term for familiar friends, relatives and neighbors.  Kith and kin refers to friends and relatives.  Looking forward to seeing plenty in the next few weeks!
